Temiskaming Kennel Club - 6 shows.

Baxter and I decided to go to the above mentioned shows. He decided he was tired of sitting around home waiting to grow up. Turns out he was right. We took 10 year old Mardi along with us. She had a ball. What a lovely time we had at the shows. Visiting with friends watching all the different breeds and seeing what all the judges did with some of the top winning dogs. It was very interesting, and I guess it was the dog show fix I need, cause I feel great!!

Of course, the fact the Baxter showed really well and did some nice winning for a young dog sure helps to make it a great trip, but most of all it is the company of my good friend Grace and her beautiful Keeshonds that helped make it fun.

Baxter took BOS the first show - Judge Martin Doherty.
Show #2 he took BOB and a Group 4th - Judge Jacquline Rusby
Show #3 he took BOB and a Group 3rd - Judge Phillis Wolfish
Show #4 he took BOB with no Group placement - Judge Judy Elford
Show #5 showed really well but, he didn't do a darn thing - Judge David Markus
Show #6 he took BOB and a Group 2nd - Judge Jim Bricknell

Judge - Phyllis Wolfish
Owner/handler - Shirley Bell
Judge - Jim Bricknell
Owner/handler - Shirley Bell

Baxter's next shows are Sudbury & District Kennel Club, Coniston, Ontario

We are home from the Sudbury Shows!! Both Baxter and I are very tired. Saturday night was very late. It was a very long busy day in and out of the rings so many times. Sweeps, Specialty, regular all breed class and Puppy Classic later that same night. While he has some good wins, the picture below depicts the best win he had during the weekend. Darn photos are so expensive, this is the only one we had taken.

It was so good to see the quality of Boxers entered at these shows!! The Specials class was amazing, the competiton was strong and the judges decisions were very difficult. The Awards were spread around and all in all a extremely fun weekend. The comaradarie and good sportsmanship exhibited this past weekend makes me proud of the Boxer breeders and handlers who attended these shows.

One of the most exciting shows, was under judge Kim Leblanc......we did not win the breed, but boy did she make us work and it was quite obvious that she was considering this young boy. I enjoyed 'showing' to her.

Group 1st Sudbury
Judge - Richard Lake
Handler/Owner - Shirley Bell

Burlington Kennel Club, Milton, Ontario.
Baxter won Best of Breed 2 of the 3 days at the Burlington shows. He didn't place in Group either day. On the third day, we were absent as he started coughing. I didn't want to pass on the kennel cough, even though I was later told that many of the dogs at the Sudbury show were sick, which I assume is where he got it.

Good News!
Baxter's mother, Can/Am Ch Bar-K's Perfectly Perfect (Patsy) has come to live at Bellcrest. She has fit in really well and is getting along nicely with our Mardi and is tolerating her son Baxter!! She is a real sweetie.

A Great weekend. We are soooo pleased with our young boy. He really loves to get out there and be a show dog.

We are off to Mexico to judge the Mexico Boxer Club National Specialty in the morning so won't get all the show photos posted till after we get back next Wednesday. We got some lovely photos. I have quickly put two off them up. See below.

Baxter is not entered at any more shows due to upcoming judging assignments. We will decide on further shows in the New Year. He will soon need to start competing in the US for his American Championship. We live too far away from the border to be able to take him to the US often enough.
